American Idol Shoutout Contest

    I just recieved an e-mail from the special events coordinator telling me that Iwas registered to compete in the contest to win a paid trip to Hollywood to see the American Idol Finale. People are competing March 1st, March 22nd, and April 5th from 11am to noon.  Apparently, I will be given a script for a sentence that has to be said in 5 seconds to make a comemrcial for American Idol. Then I have to create my own 5 minute commercial. I hope I win!! This is what I was e-mailed.

Congratulations!  You are registered to compete in the Idol Shout Out contest from WFXV, Fox 33.  Please be at Sangertown Square, Center Court at 11:10 AM on March 1st.  You will be asked to say two things.  The first, which everyone will say, is “Be sure to watch American Idol on WFXV, Fox 33.”  You might want to practice that; lots of people had a hard time saying WFXV last season!!  The second thing you get to say is something that you can make up yourself.  It has to give the message that people should tune in to see American Idol on WFXV, but you can say it any way you please.  An example might be: “i’m getting tips for my singing career by watching American Idol on WFXV, Fox 33!”  We are looking for people with lots of personality, so go big!!! Everyone who auditions needs to have a talent release form.  This is a form that gives us permission to use your face on tv.  If you are under 18, the form must be signed by a parent or guardian.  This form can be downloaded from our site at cnyhomepage.com.  It is helpful if you have these filled out when you get to the auditions. You already know, if you read the contest discription, that this is not a singing contest.  You are NOT auditioning to be a contestant on American Idol.  You do have the chance to be picked to appear on WFXV in a promotion for American Idol, and one lucky contestant will win a trip for two to the American Idol finale in Hollywood.
